Timothy († c. 97)
Martyr
(+97) Timothy, son of a pagan father and a Jewish-Christian mother, Eunice.
Biography
He accompanied Pablo on his missionary journeys. He appointed him bishop of Ephesus. He was with Paul in his Roman prison. One tradition says that he was beaten and martyred for trying to prevent a very corrupt party. Saint Paul wrote three of his pastoral letters to these two disciples.
