Martyr

Slovak Salesian priest and martyr of the communist regime, Tito Zeman risked his life to help young religious to clandestinely cross the border and continue their priestly formation.

Biography

Captured in 1951, he was interrogated, tortured and condemned as an enemy of the State. He spent years in harsh prisons, where he supported other prisoners with his faith, until he became seriously ill. Released under surveillance, he died as a result of the suffering he suffered.
