Ubaldo (+1160)
confessor of faith
He was born in Gubbio, Umbria, Italy, a town famous for the “conversion of a very ferocious wolf that Saint Francis tamed.” For his part, Ubaldo had to convert the canons regular of Gubbio where he had been appointed father prior.
Biography
These continued to ring the canonical hours in order to edify the people. But unfortunately they did not bother to attend them and at night they stayed in bed instead of going to matins and during the day they frequented houses with good culinary reputations. It was considered a true miracle to have restored the fervor of the entire council. After this the inhabitants of Perugia asked Ubaldo as bishop and he had to accept against his will.
Practical advice
In a spirit of service, pray for a priest who goes through a difficulty without leaving for tomorrow the good that you can do today.
