Vandrilium (600–668)
Monk
He was born in Verdun, France and was a page at the court of Clotaire II.
Biography
He became a monk and seemed to have the need to travel to progress on spiritual paths. We find him successively in France, Switzerland, Italy, again in Switzerland and finally, he set out on his way to Ireland, which he still did not know, but he never arrived, because Saint Audoenus stopped him while he was crossing Normandy, and managed to retain him in his diocese. Vandrilio founded an abbey at Fontanelle, in the Jumièges forest, of which he was the first abbot and which now bears his name.
Practical advice
Trusting in God's grace, listen patiently to a person before advising them, remembering that holiness is built on the ordinary.
