Veronica Giuliani (Julianis, in Spanish) (1660–1727)

Franciscan nun

Daughter of the prestigious Giuliani family, who held important positions, she was born in Urbino, Italy.

Biography

As a child she was tremendously restless, and her main defect was always wanting to impose her ideas and whims on others. However, she was very charitable and had great compassion for the poor. He had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin and the Child Jesus, and when he was older, to the Passion and Death of Jesus. She entered as a Capuchin nun at the age of 17, and continued with this devotion, especially that of the five wounds of Jesus. When he turned 33, these sores and wounds on his head began to appear on his body like a crown of thorns. The doctors tried hard to heal these wounds, but they never wanted to heal. Despite her mystical qualities, Veronica dedicated herself to the normal activities of nuns with great dedication, and thus came to be named mistress of novices and later, superior of the convent. In this position he was concerned with improving the building and making it healthier and more pleasant. What he received from the rich he gave to the poor. Veronica died just on her golden anniversary as a nun, after having lived as a fervent and holy Capuchin all her life.
