Vicente Grossi (1845–1917)
Founding priest
Italian parish priest and founder of the Daughters of the Oratory, Vicente Grossi dedicated his ministry to Christianly forming youth in rural areas and peripheries.
Biography
The son of a miller, he combined family work with studies for years until he entered the seminary. Ordained in 1869, he served for decades in parishes marked by poverty, illiteracy and social tensions. He organized catechesis, oratories and a female congregation that collaborated closely with parish priests in the education of girls and young people. The Eucharist, joy and fidelity to the Magisterium sustained his daily work.
Practical advice
Dedicate personal time today to training a young person who does not receive enough attention.
