Víctor Emilio Moscoso Cárdenas, martyr (1846–1897)
Martyr
Ecuadorian Jesuit, Víctor Emilio Moscoso Cárdenas was an educator, superior and man of profound Eucharistic life.
Biography
He entered the Society of Jesus, leaving his law studies, and served for years in schools in Riobamba and Guayaquil as a teacher and trainer. During an anticlerical revolution, armed men broke into Riobamba's school at dawn and found him praying. He was murdered out of hatred for the faith, and his body was left lying next to the chapel that he had faithfully guarded.
Practical advice
Today, carefully fulfill an educational task and dedicate a few minutes of prayer for those who reject or attack the faith.
