Biography
The Germans began to venerate him from the year 836 when his relics arrived at Corvey Abbey, Saxony. Among the sanctuaries that were built in his honor, Dresselhaussen stands out, which became very famous in the 14th century during an epidemic that devastated Germany and the Netherlands. Since then this disease received the name “Saint Vitus Dance”.
