August 21
Vładysław Findysz, priest and martyr (1907–1964)
martyr priest
Polish priest, Vladislao Findysz was persecuted and imprisoned for announcing the Gospel and promoting Christian reconciliation under the communist regime.
Biography
Ordained in 1932, he served as a parish priest and helped displaced and persecuted people during the war, without distinguishing nationality or confession. Later he organized parish missions and wrote to distant parishioners to invite them to regularize their sacramental life. The authorities interpreted this pastoral action as illicit pressure: they arrested him in 1963 and denied him the medical care he needed. Released seriously ill, he died a few months later as a result of the suffering he suffered.

Today, gently invite someone far away to resume a good practice, always leaving room for their freedom.
