December 18
Winebald (700–761)
religious
He was born in East Anglia and left England to go to Rome on a pilgrimage with his brother Saint Wilibald and his father.
Biography
He died in Lucca, Italy, of exhaustion. The two brothers continued on their way, often sick, but always together, so that one could take care of the other if necessary. Winebaldo stayed in Rome for several years and received many graces from heaven. In the year 738 he met Saint Boniface and followed him to Germany where he evangelized Thuringia and Bavaria. He crowned his apostolate by founding a monastery in the diocese of Eichstat, of which his brother Wilibald was bishop, and a convent for women, headed by his sister Saint Walburga.
Practical advice
During this day, prepare well for a conversation in which you must guide someone and start again with humility if it doesn't go well.
