Luis Grozde (1923–1943)
young
A young Slovenian layman, member of Catholic Action and deeply in love with the Eucharist, Luis Grozde made the apostolate among his companions the center of his brief life.
Biography
In the midst of the Second World War he clearly defended the faith against anti-Christian ideologies. On January 1, 1943, he was arrested by communist partisans when he was carrying a missal, the Imitation of Christ and a rosary. Falsely accused of espionage, he was tortured and murdered. His martyrdom shows that youthful holiness can unite study, friendship, prayer and courage.
