Mary Magdalene
Disciple of the Lord and Apostle to the Apostles
Mary Magdalene was a faithful disciple of Jesus.
Biography
The Gospels name her among the women who followed and supported the Lord, remained near the Cross, witnessed his burial, and went to the tomb early on Easter morning. There she encountered the risen Christ, who called her by name and sent her to announce the Resurrection to the disciples. For this mission she has long been called “Apostle to the Apostles.” Her life speaks of gratitude, persevering love, courage in sorrow, and the joy of becoming a witness to the living Lord.
Practical advice
When you have the opportunity, avoid a critical remark and speak charitably about someone who has hurt you, ending with a brief act of thanksgiving.
